Volkswagen Race Polo thrills Colombo at the night races
Colombo, December 19, 2011 - Volkswagen Race Polo put up a thrilling show at the Colombo Night Races on Saturday night. Polo R Cup 2011 drivers, Munjal Savla and Mihir Dharkar won race one and race two respectively. The extravaganza had many other car series participating with a crowd of over fifty thousand enjoying the race and music throughout the night. In a line-up of eleven cars, eight drivers were from India and three guest drivers from Sri Lanka.
Vishnu Prasad crowned Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2011 Champion
Chennai, November 27, 2011 – Vishnu Prasad was crowned Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2011 Champion after an action packed race finale at Irungattukottai Race Track, Sriperumbudur, Chennai. For the second year in a row the championship came down to the last race with Oshan Kothadiya securing the runners-up spot.
Guest driver Sunny Sidhu won the final race with a time of 19:48.996 minutes, while international woman driver Maiken Rasmussen, who started 18th on the grid, fought through the field to finish in 2nd position, just 1.220 seconds behind the winner. Mihir Dharkar who started in third position in race two drove hard and managed to finish in third place, 0.276 seconds after Maiken. Champion Vishnu Prasad finished fourth, while championship contenders’ Oshan Kothadiya and Avdumber Hede finished in 5th and 6th position respectively.

Chennai, November 27, 2011 - Avdumber Hede led from start to finish to claim top honours in the First Race of Round Six of the JK Tyre Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2011 at the Irungattukottai Race Track, Sriperumbudur, Chennai. The young driver completed the race in 18:58.343 minutes around the short circuit. The podium was shared by Oshan Kothadiya who finished 2nd, 1.994 seconds behind the leader and Championship leader Vishnu Prasad in third place, 11.941 seconds behind Avdumber. The results ensures that the championship will go own to the very last race of the season, with four drivers all in the hunt for the title.
Vishnu Prasad Regains Championship Leader Position After Round Five of Polo R Cup 2011
Chennai, October 19, 2011 - The excitement is mounting with every round of the JK Tyre Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2011. The minimal points difference after Round Five has left the Championship wide open with the top 4 drivers having a clear shot at being the Champion. Noorani and guest driver, Gaurav Dalal, emerged as the winners of Race One and Race Two respectively. Vishnu Prasad, who was leading the championship till Round Three is back on the leadership position with 320 points. Vishnu is followed by Rahil with 315 points and Oshan Kothadiya with 288 points. Fourth and fifth positions are taken up by Avdumber Hede (277 points) and Mihir Dharkar (235 points) respectively.

Chennai, September 21, 2011 - This weekend Chennai witnessed one of the most exciting rounds so far of the JK Tyre Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2011 Oshan Kothadiya from Pune and Rahil Noorani Mumbai emerged as the winners of Race 1 and Race 2 respectively. Tables have turned in favour of the Mumbai lad as he now leads the championship standings with 235 points. Vishnu Prasad, who was leading until Round 3, had a rather rough weekend with penalties from stewards resulting in his losing his leadership position to Rahil. He has a total of leadership position to Rahil. He has a total of 228 points followed by Goa driver, Avdumber Hede with 225 points, who has lost one position as well. The top 3 drivers are followed by Oshan Kothadia , Alisha Abdullah and Mihir Dharkar with 206, 154 and 153 points respectively.

After Round Three, Vishnu Prasad retains his lead in the championship standings with 170 points even after a quick exit in Race Two followed closely by Avdumber Hede who is now at 151 points. Oshan Kothadiya and Rahil Noorani maintain their third and fourth position in the standings with 146 and 135 points respectively.

Parth Ghorpade was given a 30 second penalty after jumping the start and finished down in 9th position. In the end it was Chennai lad and Pole winner Vishnu Prasad who out-drove the rest to win the race with a total time of 00:24:50.051. Sailesh Bolisetti creates history by becoming India’s first Polo Cup Champion
Chennai, December 19, 2010 – Sailesh Bolisetti created history by winning the first ever Polo Cup in India when he finished in 6th position. Heading into the final race Sailesh trailed Parth Ghorpade by just two points. Parth had a great start and was in 4th position with Sailesh in 6th position when he made a mistake that dropped him back to 11th position. After that, all Sailesh had to do was finish ahead of Parth, which he duly did to become India’s first ever Polo Cup Champion. Munjal Savla won race 2 ahead of Kartik Shankar and Vishnu Prasad.

Wolfsburg (07 August 2010). The first Scirocco victory for an Indian: Aditya Patel has won the fourth race of the season in the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup at the Nürburgring. The 22-year-old from Chennai in his sport coupe powered by bio natural gas achieved a crystal-clear start-finish victory, ahead of leader of the standings Maciek Steinhof (Poland) and Nordschleife legend Olaf Manthey (Germany). Juniors Kris Heidorn (Germany), Jann-Hendrik Ubben (Germany) and Arne Larisch (Germany) clinched places four to six in their Scirocco R cars that deliver up to 275 hp.

Volkswagen India & JK Tyres announced the starting grid line-up of the 2nd Round of Polo Cup India 2010 which is being flagged-off on Sunday at the Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore-the hub of action in motorsports in India. Vishnu Prasad from Chennai took the Pole Position by clocking a best lap time of 1:15.811. He was followed by Saran Vikram with a best lap time of 1:16.045 as 2nd on the grid. However, Saran will be unable to participate in the race tomorrow due to a driving failure. The second row of the grid was completed with Sahil Shelar and Karthik Shankar on 3rd and 4th position respectively.

The racer from Hyderabad led from start to finish as he created history by becoming the first winner of the Polo Cup today. The programme launched on 17 April 1998 at Hockenheim as the "Volkswagen ADAC Touring Junior Cup" with the 112-hp Lupo has long evolved into a success story in the field of promoting young racing talent.
